Sunday--After a night in Loveland, CO, we got up and went down to Englewood, CO to visit with Jim and Donna. We visited for a couple of hours, picked some tomatoes and Donna gave us some dried apples. We enjoyed our visit..We left around noon, before the Broncos started playing at 2:30PM. That is a growing city. We traveled down to Dumas TX for the night..I took a bath as soon as we got in our room and laid in the bed and enjoyed the last night of our trip..
Monday--Up and ready to go about 7:30AM..I drove the first half of the day and let Bobby drive the last half which was the longest..We got home about 6:30..Overall we had a very nice trip..It was sa very fast two weeks...

Saturday--We left Cody, WY this morning. On our route we saw a couple of elk, after not seeing many in Yellowstone, it was a treat..WE also saw quite a bit of snow on our route, that we didn't remember from last year when we came across. This time we were going reverse..WE got some apples from a lady that was selling them on the side of the road at a little camp/retreat. There was an old Methodist church that had been moved to the property and it was neat. There was going to be a wedding there today..After we got to Buffalo, WY we started south on I-25 down to Cheyenne. After we got to Cheyenne, we got on I-80 and started to go across Nebraska, but after about 20 miles, we decided that we were going too far out of the way, so I turned around at the next exit, which are few and far between, went back to Cheyenne and got on I-25 and have ended up in Loveland, CO. Now I am tired and going to bed...

Friday--Temperature this morning at Gardiner, MT. was 25 degrees. By the time we had breakfast and got into Yellowstone the temp had risen to 28 degrees. At the entrance to the park we saw several elk. We drove the upper part of the park which we had not done before or if we had we didn't remember it. We saw a couple of herd of buffalo in the valley's and that was all the wild life we saw in that part. We went down to Old Faithful and went past several of the mud holes that were steaming and got out a couple of times..As we reached Old Faithful, we saw that it was not to erupt for a while so we had lunch in the cafeteria with all the rest of the "ching chang chong" people, who were very rude regardless of where we saw them..After lunch, we started out to see the geyser and I thought I had a few minutes so I went to the bathroom, when I got outside it was over. Bobby made some pictures and didn't really think it had erupted but guess it had, we sat there for a while and everybody left, so we left without me seeing it..After this we stopped a couple of times and made pictures of the waterfalls and I made the walk tot he Grand Canyon of Yellowstone and made some pictures..As we were leave the park we drove through a mountainous area and saw snow on the mountains and the side of the road..We are now in Cody, WY for the night..We have been to WM and then when we got back tot he room I went to Walgreens hunting T-shirts or sweat shirts for the kids but have yet to find any..I am getting rather perturbed..So much for this busy day, tomorrow is a day of riding eastward..

Tomorrow should be better. We have enjoyed our drive through Montana. It is a pretty state to visit...

We went up the east side of Glacier today. The weather was really nice today. It was sunny and cold with a few clouds but a lot better than yesterday. On the different routes into the park we saw many cows in the road. We had no idea there was open range out here, but this park is partly in an Indian reservation. The main highlight of the morning was finally finding a bathroom. We thought there would be stops along the way but they are few and far between. We went all the way to the Canadian Border, which we could not cross because it was closed for the season and we didn't plan on crossing because we didn't have a Visa..We got out and walked around and looked over into Canada.
On our way back down the east side we decided to go back and try the West Side one more time. We were glad we did. The sun was out some but there wee still some clouds but no rain. Once we reached Logan Pass there was snow on the ground and trees and it was snowing lightly. WE had seen snow on the mountains all the way up to Logan Pass. One thing I did leave out of our morning trip, We saw one bear. That is all the wild life we have seen. We are in Kalispell, MT for the night and going to get up in the morning and head for Yellowstone and then plan us a route to Benton, AR..

Sept. 30, 2014
Tuesday--Well, today has not been one of our better days to travel..We made it to Glacier Park, drove into the park in a mist that turned into a light rain, then the higher we got to clouds and hard rain and cold wind..We drove down the Going to the Sun road as far as was open, which was 30 miles to Logan Pass..It was 39 degrees and rainy and windy when we reached this point. On the way back to Columbia Falls, MT for lunch we decided that we had seen enough of the west side and will try seeing the East side tomorrow..Hopefully all the rain and freezing rain will be gone..WE have not seen any critters so far, but hope to see some tomorrow..We are in our hotel for the night and it is still raining...

Sept. 29, 2014
We have had a long day in miles, but still it seemed like a short day..We have traveled over 600 miles today, but now we are 30 miles from Glacier National Park. We are in Kalispell, Montana..On our route today we saw truck loads of potatoes, beets(still in ground) and thousands of bales of hay..I don't believe that anywhere we have been in our travels have we seen so much hay.
Montana stands up to its name..We now understand why they say "Big Sky Country". We have never traveled this far north or been in Montana. We really have enjoyed our drive in this state today..Tomorrow should be the highlight of our trip. We will be as far north as we are going and after the tour of Glacier we will pick us out a route to head back toward Arkansas..The weather is cool and we are enjoying that..Glad we are not home for the 80 degree temps..That is all for tonight..
